LogMatters - October 2010
Welcome Halloween Log Fans,
Happy everyone-wears-orange month! Of course we do it all the time, it looks good on us. For those of you who follow us closely, you may have noticed that we’ve been a bit quiet this month. The reason is, we’ve been moving to new blogging technology and it hasn’t been as smooth as it should have been.
So we’ll keep it simple. Here’s a list of all the sugary delights you missed while we were trapped in the scary dark.
- On October 5th we revamped our partner program to critical acclaim.
- On October 6th we announced our continued growth in tough times.
- On October 11th we showcased our new McAfee ePO integration at McAfee Focus in Vegas. (Bill Clinton was there!)
- On October 12th we released the industry’s first SIEM appliance.
- On October 18th we released a new entry-level appliance for forensics and analytics.
- We also featured in some interesting articles by Security Week, SystemiNetwork, CBRonline, KansasCity, CIO Update, SC Magazine, ComputerWeekly, eWeekLabs, V3, another (this time with fellow blogger Dimitri) Security Week, another SC Magazine, Computing, eCommerceTimes, TheTechHerald, TechTarget, Processor, Pampapresse, DarkReading, and my friend Jean-Francois was in GlobalSecurityMag.
- And we discovered that 62% of people who should know, don’t actually know about new UK legislation.
- The big news this month is that PCI DSS 2.0 finally got released in time to scare the stuffing out of retailers.
Happy Halloween,
Andy Morris Product Marketing Director, LogLogic
Customer Spotlight: Achieving Network Security through Consolidated Log Management in a U.S. Government Agency
With reports of leaks and data compromises at other U.S. Government agencies, this customer - a Cyber Security Team at a U.S. Government agency - realized it was time to take action. They wanted to find a system that would provide greater visibility into the hundreds of systems under the agency’s purview, but with limited resources they needed a solution that would not require significant manpower resources to install, use or maintain. Read why this customer states, "I would absolutely recommend LogLogic as a logging solution. I’m 99.9% sure that whatever your requirements, LogLogic will meet those and then come to the table with solutions for others that you didn’t even think about.”
